As a member of the large community in North Carolina I tend to see one main growing problem, homelessness. 11,491 people all across North Carolina are homeless and even more go hungry everyday. ( moveforhunger.org/hunger-and-homelessness/?location=nc ) .I have witnessed this first hand. Right by my brothers school there is a homeless camp. It is so sad to me to see our own people suffering. You never know who they are or how they got here. I think that if more tax money was put into food and shelter then we could help this growing problem. Adults and kids suffer everyday. I believe there are many ways to solve this issue. We could donate can food items, blankets, water and old clothes to our local homeless shelter. We could focus some of our tax money into helping build and supply homeless shelters. People could also volunteer at place like Habitat For Humanity. We could set up places where food can be given out in high homeless population areas for the homeless or people who tend to go hungry. We need to stop taking advantages of these places also. My mom volunteers and my churches soup kitchen from time to time almost every time it is so aggravating to see working men and women in nice, expensive suites come into just so then can get a free meal. This cuts down the food supply for the people who actually need it but we're not allowed to turn them away, so there is no stopping them from doing it. If people like this would stop and look around at the actual problem around them maybe they'd see there is something they can do to help it. We need to come together to help the hungry and homeless in our community because they are people too.
